[onequarterlast] [highlight_text] [/highlight_text] Gladys Duer, 83, of Waupun, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 9, 2014 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac with the comfort of her family at her side.

[leftcolumn] Gladys was born January 6, 1931 in the town of Waupun in Fond du Lac County, the daughter of Lloyd and Henrietta Yunto Beekman. On May 20, 1949 she married Gordon Duer at the Waupun City Hall in Waupun. Following their marriage the couple resided near Oakfield where they farmed until 1981, at which time they moved to Waupun. Gladys was employed at Huth James Shoe Factory in Waupun, The Well Kum Inn, and Helen’s Kitchen in Waupun. Gladys was a member of First Reformed Church in Waupun, a volunteer at the Waupun Senior Center, and a member of American Legion Post 210 Auxiliary.

Gladys is survived by her husband of 65 years, Gordon Duer of Waupun; their five children, Carol Duer and special friend, Maureen “Teetoo” Buteyn of Beaver Dam, Gordon (Janeen) Duer Jr. of Groton, CT, Michael (Susan) Duer of Leroy, Valerie Duer and her husband, Harold “Bud” Guenther of Eldorado, and Jeff (Sara) Duer of Mosinee; ten grandchildren, Jennifer (Josh) Wessell, Gordon Duer III, Elizabeth Duer, Stacey (Jason) Kayser, Melissa (Justin) Regner, Nathan (Angela) Haug, Trevor (Anna) Haug, Jonathan Duer, Kimberly Duer, and Tristan Duer; five great-grandchildren, Zeke Wessell, Ryan Kayser, Bryce Kayser, Elyssa Kayser, and Leon Hage; two brothers, Lawrence (Evelyn) Beekman of Randolph and Harold (Cheri) Beekman of Neshkoro; and nieces and nephews.

Gladys was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie; a sister, Cynthia Raymond; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Helen Beekman, James Raymond, and Eva and Eddie Gerretson.

[rightcolumn] [highlight_text] Visitation: [/highlight_text] Friends and relatives may call on the family on Monday from 5-7 p.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun and on Tuesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.

[rightcolumn] [highlight_text] Services: [/highlight_text] Funeral services for Gladys Duer will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at First Reformed Church in Waupun with Rev. Bob James officiating.
