[highlight_text] (1924 – 2012) [/highlight_text] Dorothy A. “Dottie” Meyer, 88, of Markesan, WI/Mission, TX passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2012 in Mission, Texas following a short illness.


[leftcolumn]Dorothy was born September 7, 1924 the daughter of Otto and Mildred Schultz Kleinschmidt. Dottie grew up in York, WI. On November 8, 1941 she married Arnold F. Marten. The couple farmed in Marshall until his death on February 20, 1977. On December 9, 1978 she married Arthur “Art” Meyer. They farmed in Markesan until 1988 at which time they retired. They spent many winters in Kailua Kona, Hawaii and Mission, Texas. They also enjoyed traveling in their motor home for many years.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Arthur “Art” Meyer; her sister, Margaret Hoffman of Marshfield; three grandchildren, Arnold (Deanna) Schulz of Columbus, WI, Vicky (John) Turgeon of Reedsburg, and Robert Schulz of Janesville; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Mildred; husband, Arnold Marten; a daughter, Betty Schulz; two brothers, Eugene and Darwin; and her sister, Marcella Weihert.

[rightcolumn] [highlight_text] Visitation: [/highlight_text] Friends and relatives may call on the family on Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun and on Friday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time service.[rightcolumn]

[rightcolumn] [highlight_text] Services: [/highlight_text] Funeral services for Dorothy Meyer will be held on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church (St. Joseph’s) in Markesan with Fr. Richard Lesniak officiating.[rightcolumn]

[highlight_text] Burial: [/highlight_text] Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Waterloo, WI.
