Dennis K. Vande Zande, 60, of Waupun, died Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at The Christian Home and Rehabilitation Center in Waupun.

Denny was born April 21, 1956 in Waupun, the son of Donald J. and Helen Ter Beest Vande Zande. Denny attended Waupun Schools and graduated from Waupun High School in 1974. Over the years, Denny was employed by West Main Lumber, Hull’s 151 Implement, Tulip Lanes as a manager, and Sandy’s Goose Shot. Denny was an avid floral gardener, enjoyed bowling, collected farm toys and trucks, and was active with Waupun Truck N’ Show as a judge of toy trucks.

Denny is survived by his mother, Helen Vande Zande of Waupun; his brothers and sisters: Marcia (Mark) Paul of Beaver Dam, Lori (Rich) Smith of Waupun, Darrell (Lisa) Vande Zande of Waupun, and Dean Vande Zande of Waupun; and nieces and nephews.

Denny was preceded in death by his father, Donald Vande Zande; and a nephew, Scott Smith.


Friends and relatives may call on the family on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of service.


Memorial services for Denny Vande Zande will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 6 p.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun with Chaplain Dennis Overlien officiating.

    Denny will be missed. We had some good times and he was usually good for a joke or two. We will keep the family in our prayers

      Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Denny will be missed for his beautiful flower gardens and for volunteering his time at the Waupun Truck – N- Show. He will rest in peace.

    My condolences to the whole family.
    Denny and i use to have a lot of fun working at the old Spirits years ago.
    I am sure he is enjoying the big bowling alley in the sky.
