Bonnie Meyer, 70, of rural Burnett, died peacefully on Thursday evening, December 21, 2017 from injuries sustained in a pedestrian accident on December 8th.

Bonnie was born July 18, 1947 in Fond du Lac, the daughter of Walter and Grace Piotrowski Hoinacki. Bonnie was a graduate of Waupun High School in 1965. On September 20, 1969 she married Edward P. Meyer in Waupun. Following their marriage the couple farmed in the town of Chester. Following retirement Bonnie worked for Home Instead Senior Care. From her job she met and touched many people’s lives. Throughout her life she was a very caring person and treated everyone as family. She loved her family with all her heart, especially her granddaughter, Clare. Bonnie had a talent for creativity in the kitchen. She was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waupun.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ed Meyer of rural Burnett; daughters: Brenda Meyer of Reedsville and Traci (Robert) Dehring of Oconomowoc, WI; granddaughter, Clare Dehring; two sisters: Geri Klebenow of Wauwatosa and Nancy Cramer of Fox Lake; a brother, Tom (Sue) Hoinacki of Waupun; sister-in-law, Diane (Don) Rens of Fox Lake; mother-in-law, Agnes Meyer of Waupun; brother-in-law, Charles (Lois) Meyer of Waterloo; sisters-in-law: Kathy Kienow of Baraboo and Mary (Charlie) Komosa of Waupun; and several nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jack Hoinacki; father-in-law, Paul Meyer; and two brothers-in-law: Joe Cramer and John Kienow.


Friends and relatives may call on the family on Friday at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun from 4-7 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.


Mass of Christian Burial for Bonnie Meyer will be held Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waupun with Rev. John Radetski officiating.


Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waupun.

    What a beautiful woman, and how lucky we are to have known Bonnie! Bonnie would often call her Aunt Lucille to just talk and share what was going on in each others lives. Many great memories of times spent together. And her compassionate care of people was certainly appreciated by many!

    My deepest sympathy to your family. It was a pleasure knowing Bonnie she has such a huge heart and I remember her bringing in food to share with the drivers at different parties wonderful cook and such a sweet lady.
