Barbara Jean Doan

While residing in Waupun, she was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church where she and Allen were Junior Christian Endeavor Leaders. She also taught Sunday School and was the Sunday School Superintendent. In 1987, Barbara, Allen, and family moved to Bradenton, FL. As a member of Bradenton Christian Reformed Church, she was a member of its Fellowship Committee and worked with the Bantu Refugee Ministry. She was a Solve House (unwed mom’s ministry) volunteer. She and Allen were also foster parents to Jonathan Jermaine Smith for five years. Barbara was a current member of Cortez Road Baptist Church in Bradenton. Barbara treasured and loved her family. She enjoyed traveling and photography, and had a large mug collection from her travels to Europe and the USA.
Barbara is survived by two sons: Gregory Allen Doan of Bradenton and Matthew Allen (Christine) Doan of Orlando; a daughter, Dr. Jennifer Ann Doan of Orlando; her parents, Ewald and Florence Zurbuchen of Bradenton; sisters-in-law, Trina (Ted) Boersma and Marlys (Stanley) Neevel of Waupun, and Marcia (Jim) Fritz of Beaver Dam; nieces and nephews, Jess, Ben, Josh, and Savannah Boersma, Brent, Dana, and Charlie Neevel, and Andy and Abby Fritz.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Dale Doan; a son, Jeffrey Allen Doan; father-in-law, Robert Doan; mother-in-law, Maxine Doan Keach; and step-father-in-law, Jefferson Keach.
