William Gelatt

William “Bill” Gelatt, age 55, passed away early Saturday morning, November 23, 2024 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN. 

Bill was born on January 3, 1969 in LaCrosse, WI the son of James S. and Gretchen R. (Derksen) Gelatt Jr. Bill was a graduate of Aquinas High School in La Crosse and furthered his education at Colorado College in Steamboat Springs, CO for a short period of time. Bill became a certified ski instructor, teaching old and young alike. Skiing was his passion which he mastered while living in La Crosse. Most recently Bill was employed with Snow Country Transport until his health began to fail. Bill also enjoyed golfing and fishing. He was especially fond of the up north fishing trips with his father. 

Bill will be sadly missed and mourned by his mother, Gretchen Gelatt of Waupun; two brothers: James Gelatt of Iron Mountain, MI and Andrew Gelatt of Phoenix, AZ; aunts, cousins, and many other relatives and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his father; maternal and paternal grandparents; aunts, and uncles.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun from 9:30 a.m. until the 10:30 a.m. time of service with Pastor Paul Freswick officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun.
