Wayne Brown, Sr.

Wayne Brown, Sr., 83, of Waupun, passed away unexpectedly on January 6, 2022 at his home.

Wayne was born October 30, 1938 in Watertown, SD to Richard and Estella Beam Brown. Wayne attended Waupun schools and later served the US Army for two years. Wayne met the love of his life, Joyce E. Funk, and they were married December 26, 1956. Wayne worked on the assembly line for John Deere for 32 years. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, snowmobiling, and playing cards with his great-grandkids.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joyce; four children: Wayne Jr. (Darlene) Brown, Sam (Nancy) Brown, Suesan (Doug) Henning, and Jim (Tina) Brown; nine grandchildren: Andrea (Jesse) Philips, Jessica Moede, Samantha Moede (fiance Robert), Jennifer Moede, Brandon (Brittny) Henning, Cody (Andrea) Brown, Kelly Brown (fiance Drew), Gus Brown, and Nate Brown; nine great-grandchildren: Aubrey Philips, Jackson Philips, Dawson Farr, Reryleigh Nabar, Joey Engle, Tyler Torres, Quinn Hening, Liam Henning, and Waylon Brown; two brothers: Bill Brown and Mike (Gloria) Brown; four sisters: Georgia Mecklenberg, Donna Reddin, Linda Thurk, and Diane (Octaviano “Junior”) Garcia; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Jacob Moede, a great-grandson, Caven Donovan; a brother, Richard “Dick” Brown, Jr.; and three sisters: Roberta Shaw, Shirley Brown, and Brenda Brown.



Friends and relatives may call on the family from 12 noon until the time of service.



A memorial service for Wayne Brown, Sr. will be held Friday, January 14, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun with Pastor Rick Boon officiating.
