What a kind and bright light has gone out.
When I was a student at Ripon, I frequented West Hall and Rodman. This put me in the happy circumstance of running into Vida (or as I enthusiastically referred to her, “Ms V!”) often. She indulged me with her friendship, and I was the better for it.
We checked in on one another with diminishing frequency after I graduated, but she was always friendly and kind throughout our email correspondence, and no return trip to campus was complete if it didn’t include seeing her.
I wish I’d known her better. I wish I’d checked in more often. She was a kind, sweet bloom of light in my thoughts and memory, and I’m devastated at this news.
I can’t offer any condolence to those suffering most at this tragedy, but please know your hurt is shared among all who ever met her.

  7. Dear Denny and family, I am so sorry that you have lost your bright, bubbly, kind and loving Vida. We were best of friends at primary school in the UK and, though we lost touch for a long time, it was a joy to be able to reconnect with her several times over the last few years. I’ll be at her funeral in spirit, if not in person, and will always hold her in my heart. In time, may your grief fade and your happy memories remain bright. Vida’s childhood friend, Jane.

I am so sorry to hear of Vida’s passing. I first met Vida at junior school in Kettering – England she lived next door to my dad’s sister, so as well as school our paths crossed regularly. Many, many years later we were able to make contact again and over the years we enjoyed some great times together when Vida visited England, she had the most wonderful sense of humour and a real positive out look on life, she will leave a huge void in all those peoples lives that knew her- we will miss you Vida, Rest in Peace.

Sending my deepest condolences to Denny & all the family at this very sad and difficult time, please know that my thoughts are with you
