Valerie Balgie, 63, of Waupun, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023 at her home.
Val was born April 17, 1960 in Waupun, the daughter of Roland and Arbutus “Boots” Limberg Klug (Pillsbury). Val attended Waupun schools and graduated from Waupun High School in 1979. Following graduation she was employed at Riverdale Manor in Markesan for 15 years. On May 23, 2003 she married Brian Balgie in Green Lake. Following their marriage the couple resided in Markesan. After Brian’s death she returned to Waupun where she was employed at the Christian Home. Val had many crafting skills, loved to raise and arrange flowers, and enjoyed other crafting ventures. Val was a very hard worker, and her love for her grandchildren; they were her pride and joy. She will be greatly missed by her family.
Val is survived by her son, Nicholas (Carissa) Biesenthal; granddaughters: Maya Biesenthal and Arianna Reyna; step-granddaughter, Niamh Leary; siblings: Roxanne Horn, Yvonne (Mike) White, Wally (Peggy) Klug, and Scott Klug; mother-in-law, Beverly Balgie; sisters-in-law: Mary Jo (Kevin) Winn, Christine (Randy) Visser, Kathy (Steve) Vande Kamp, and Carol Neuman; brothers-in-law: Tom (Lynn) Balgie and Fred (Nancy) Balgie; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Val was preceded in death by her special mother, Boots Pillsbury and step-father, Earl Pillsbury and father, Roland Klug; her husband, Brian Balgie; three brothers: Rolland, Ronald, and Mike Klug; her grandparents; father-in-law, Donald Balgie; sister-in-law, Sue Pruess; brother-in-law, Barry Balgie; and nephew, Noah Horn.
A private family service will be held.
