Roland Visser, 87, of Waupun, died Tuesday evening, August 7, 2012 at the Christian Homestead in Waupun.
Roland was born February 25, 1925 in Waupun, the son of Cornelius and Hattie Loomans Visser. On June 12, 1947 he married Sylvia Vande Zande at First Reformed Church in Waupun. Following their marriage the couple resided in Waupun all their married lives. Roland and his brothers started Visser Brothers, Inc. and they owned West Main Lumber, Waupun Supply, and Visser Brothers Construction. Roland was a charter member of Trinity Reformed Church where he served as an elder, taught Sunday School, and sang in the choir. He and his wife Sylvia enjoyed over 40 years of family fun at their home on Tuttle Lake, and they loved to travel.
Roland is survived by two sons, Randy (Chris) Visser of Waupun, and Jeffrey (Traci) Visser of Waupun; four grandchildren, Joshua, Katie, Nicholas, and Justin; two great-grandchildren, Grace and Griffin; a brother, Arnold Visser of Waupun; and nieces and nephews.
Roland was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia, in 2008; a sister, Agnes Van Buren; and three brothers, Clifford, John, and Harold Visser.

Friends and relatives of Roland Visser may call on the family on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun and on Friday at church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
Services:
Funeral services for Roland Visser will be held Friday, August 10, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Reformed Church in Waupun with Rev. John White officiating.
Burial:
Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun.
