Theresa Rose (Kuhn) Popelka, age 69, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam after a short and brave battle with cancer.
Teri was born on July 20, 1955, in Beaver Dam, WI, to Arnold and Irene (Curtis) Kuhn. She graduated from Cambria Friesland High School in 1973, then earned her certification as a beautician at cosmetology school in Milwaukee.
The next years of Teri’s life were spent raising her three beloved children, Josh, Bethany, and Anne. After the kids went to school Teri returned to the workplace. She worked at Rhodes Bread Factory, Ball Manufacturing, and in the Annex at Walgreens Distribution Center.
Teri worked hard in the work force and also at home as a single parent, sacrificing much for her children and grandchildren. Her faith was also an integral part of her life. She was baptized June of 1987 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses where she was an active member until the time of her death. Also close to her heart were friends and, of course, her horses and dogs.
Teri is survived by her three children: Joshua (Erica) Popelka, Bethany Popelka, and Anne Popelka; and grandchildren: Benjamin Hegge and Lauren Konkel. She will be sorely missed by her siblings: Margaret (Tom) Lange, Maurice Daniel Kuhn, Christine (Cal) Geertsma, Judy (Bill) Manthey, Heather (Doug) Tessmann, and Sharon (Stuart) Quade.
She held a special place in the hearts of many nieces and nephews as well. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Elden Kuhn.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. At her request, there will be no services.
