Terri June Huizenga Mahurien

d. October 12, 2012

(1954 - 2012)
Terri June Huizenga Mahurien, 55, of Zeiglerville, PA, formerly of Waupun, WI, died unexpectedly on Oct. 12, 2012.

Terri was born on Oct. 13, 1956 in Harvey, IL the second daughter of six to Theodore and Elaine (Karberg) Huizenga. The family lived in Illinois where Terri attended the South Holland Christian School. Her family then moved in October of 1965 to a farm outside of Waupun. Terri attended school at Waupun Christian through 8th grade and graduated in 1974 from Waupun High School. She then went to Dordt College in Iowa and later received a degree in accounting. While growing up, Terri was active with the Young Peoples Society at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Waupun. She moved to Southern, CA in 1985, and it was there she met the love of her life, Calvin (Bo) Mahurien at their Square Dance Club. The story goes that when Terri asked Bo to dance, he said his dance card was full and she would have to wait until next week. They danced to the Anne Murray song “May I have this dance.” A month later he asked her to marry him! She loved to square dance with Bo, and they enjoyed good times with their many friends at their Square Dance Club. Terri and Bo were blessed with a son, Erik Jon, born April 7th, 1990. In 1996 they moved from California to Pennsylvania and settled in the Pocono Mountains. Shortly after that they moved to the Zeiglerville, PA area. Terri was employed as the Fiscal Director of Monroe County, PA since 1997. She was a member of 1st Presbyterian Church in Pottstown, PA. Terri and Bo enjoyed traveling and took trips to several areas of the world. Terri’s free time was spent doing some of the other things she enjoyed; knitting, cross stitching, sewing, watching old classic movies and TV shows, and reading. She enjoyed decorating their home with Bo’s wildlife pencil drawings, Pennsylvania Dutch flatware, but mostly pictures of her family and friends. She is fondly remembered for her warm heart, her love for her family, a cheerful smile and sweet laugh.

Terri is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Bo; her son Erik; parents Ted and Elaine; sisters Cathy (Dwaine) Vande Berg, all of Waupun, Jane (Paul) Neevel, Brandon, Sheila (Randy) Kircher, Campbellsport, Angela (Darin) Woehl, Asheville, NC; step daughter Diana Mahurien and family, CA; brothers-in-law Dale Mahurien and Mark Mahurien, CA; sister-in-law Lola Webber of Kansas; nephews and nieces, aunts and uncles, and many cousins and friends. She will be missed by all that knew her.
She was preceded in death by an infant sister; and her grandparents.

Revelations 21:4 says “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or sadness. There will be not more crying or pain. Things are no longer the way they used to be.”
