Steven Vande Brink Jr.

Steven (Steve) Vande Brink Jr., age 86, of Brandon, WI, passed away on February 3, 2025 at home with family members beside him.

Steven, the son of Steven Sr. and Ann (Vande Kolk) Vande Brink, was born on April 25, 1938 in the Township of Springvale – Fond du Lac County. He graduated from Ripon High School in 1956. He married Barbara Jean Zabel on April 2, 1960 at Zion Lutheran Church in Fairwater, WI.

Steve was a cowboy at heart and owned and trained many horses. His Arabian Stallion Midnite Son (Sonny) was his pride and Joy. He helped set up and participated in local rodeos and trail rides. He worked and retired from Speed Queen after 37 years. He also was involved in the founding of the Fairwater Historical Society and a member for 25 years, plus served on their board for 20 years. Steve was also an avid hunter and Ford lover from his many cars, trucks and tractors. 

Steve is survived by his wife Barbara of 64 years; his daughters: Linda (David) Kohnke, Jacqueline (Thomas) Grams, and Connie (Kurt) Greenfield; his 6 grandchildren: Katie (Art) Lund, Aaron (LaRae) Simonis, Corey Vande Brink (Savanaha Carstensen), Calvin (Shaunie) Grams, Tanya (John) Webster, and Ashley (Brian) Burkhead; 10 great- grandchildren: Gage Hennricks, Sawyer Simonis, Tristan Vande Brink, Adella Vande Brink, Johnathan Grams, Evelyn Serak, Rowan Webster, Bentley Burkhead, Hailey Burkhead, and Everly Burkhead; brother, Joe Vande Brink; sisters: Sharon (Daniel) Sina and Diane (Terry) Sauerbrei; brother-in- law, Arden Patchett; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Steve Sr. and Ann Vande Brink; brothers: Donald, Robert Sr., Richard, and Edwin Vande Brink; sisters: Alice Briskie, Donna Brewer, Jean Ann Patchett, and MaryEllen Grahn.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 10, 2025 at 12 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 100 Church St. Fairwater WI 53931. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
