Sharon Peters

Sharon A. Peters, age 77, of Markesan, WI passed away on December 10, 2024 at Barrett House in Markesan.

Sharon was born September 13, 1947, the daughter of Charles and Henrietta (Hopp) Navis. On June 14, 1969 she married Richard “Dick” Peters in Waupun. Sharon and Dick were avid Wisconsin Badgers football, basketball, and Green Bay Packer fans and enjoyed watching many games together over the years.

Sharon enjoyed her gardens and planting flowers, decorating her home for the holidays and living in the Green Lake area after moving full-time in 1991.

Sharon is survived by her husband of 55 years, Richard “Dick” Peters; two children: Heather Dahl of Menomonee Falls and her children, Lindsey and Logan; Chandra and Tim Hayes of Monroe and their children: Jonathan and Sara Hayes and Katie Hayes. Sharon became a great-grandmother to Ruth Hayes in May of 2024. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Mary (Joe) Billman of West Bend; brother-in-law, David (Debbie) Peters of South Milwaukee; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings: Milton (Ardell) Navis, Junice (Gordie) Smits, Gladys (Mike) DeYoung, and Harvey Navis.

Sharon’s family wishes to gratefully thank the staff at Barrett House in Markesan for their loving, attentive care to Sharon and a thank you to SSM Hospice Care for their outstanding care.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun Rev. Jacob Nault officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun. Friends and relatives may call on the family on Saturday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
