Sharon Ruth Marchenkuski, age 84, formerly of Fox Lake, WI and Willow, AK, died peacefully at her daughter’s home in Fox Lake early Tuesday morning, December 3, 2024.
Sharon was born on the family farm in Manchester, WI on Dec. 31, 1939 the daughter of Franklin E. and Norma H. (Jones) Kohn. She graduated from Markesan High School in 1958 and shortly after enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Lakeland, TX. Sharon was united in marriage to Robert J. Marchenkuski in 1963. She loved to work with people and was a well known bartender/waitress at Edna’s Supper Club and the Walther Haus and as a cashier for Pierces Supermarket, S & K Liquidators, and Kwik Trip, all in Fox Lake. Following her divorce in 2007, Sharon followed one of her dreams and moved to Alaska to live in the wilderness with her special friend, Ronald Drover where she resided until Nov. 17, 2024. Sharon was a past member of Annunciation Catholic Church (St. Mary’s) in Fox Lake and loved spending her time volunteering at the former Beaver Dam Community Hospital.
Sharon will be sadly missed and mourned by her four children: Scott (Darla) Marchenkuski of Brandon, Theresa (Michael) Casey of Fox Lake, Tania (Howard) Lovejoy of Brandon, and Dean (Missy) Marchenkuski of Waupun; 11 grandchildren: Nicole (Julio Moscoso) Casey, Samantha Casey, Megan (Dustin Adelmeyer) Casey, Alex (Samantha) Marchenkuski, Tyler Lovejoy, Colton Lovejoy, Abigail Lovejoy, Connor Marchenkuski, Carter Marchenkuski, Annie (Steven) Wagner and Tyler (Kylie) Ernest; six great-grandchildren: Andre, Abram, Jemma, Wyatt, Jayde, and Louis; one sister, Diana (Fred) Flash of Markesan; two brothers: Jerry Kohn of Menominee Falls and Lloyd (Kathy) Kohn of Markesan; nieces, nephews, several other relatives and friends.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Tony Marchenkuski; two sisters, Arla (Don) Trampf and Ardy (Wilbur) Sauerbrei; one brother, Herbert (Jean) Kohn; a sister-in-law, Darlene Kohn; and a brother-in-law, Delbert Baggett.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Thomas Naidu officiating. Relatives and friends may call on the family at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
