Sharon G. Harmsen, 77, of Waupun, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.
Sharon was born April 29, 1942 in Randolph, the daughter of Harold and Josie Dykstra Soodsma. Sharon graduated from Randolph High School in 1960. On December 14, 1962 she married Ken Harmsen in Waupun. Together the couple raised their four children. Sharon was a sales director for Mary Kay Cosmetics and was later employed at Silgan Containers in Waupun for 24 years where she retired in 2012. Sharon was an active member of Trinity Reformed Church in Waupun.
Sharon is survived by her children: Julie Connelly of Houston, TX, Kevin (Carol) Harmsen of Waupun, Dawn Harmsen of Oshkosh, and Kurt Harmsen of Fox Lake; 9 grandchildren:
Dana, Macinzie, Madison, Julaya, Taylor, Tritt, Lawrence, Dayne, and Allayna Jean; 5 great-grandchildren: Brooke, Dax, Eli, Adrian, and Aubrey; brothers and sisters: Sid Soodsma of Waupun, Gary Soodsma of Waupun, Winky (Jon) Dobbratz of Waupun, Joanne (Larry) Buwalda of Waupun, Connie (David) Hopp of Waupun, and Gerri (Rich) Buteyn of Brandon; along with several nieces and nephews.
Sharon was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Soodsma; and a sister-in-law, Helen Soodsma.
Visitation
Friends and relatives may call on the family on Monday at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun from 4-7 p.m. and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Services
A memorial service for Sharon G. Harmsen will take place Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Reformed Church in Waupun with Rev. Brent Matzen officiating.
