The casket before us bears the mortal remains of Sandra Norma Schneidervin. She was born to Roland Arndt and Anne ((nee) Kroening on August 26, 1941, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Within a couple of weeks from her birth she was received into God’s kingdom of grace through the Holy Sacrament of Baptism at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, where at the age of 14 she was also confirmed after completing the two years of catechetical training in the Holy Scriptures.
She was united in God’s state of Holy Matrimony to John C. Schneidervin on February 6, 1960, in a formal military wedding service conducted at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. She and her husband John were blessed with 59 years, 1 month and 25 days of happily wedded love. God blessed their marriage with 7 children: one daughter, Virginia Voigt; and six sons, Lee, Chris, David, Timothy, Matthew and Philip.
Throughout her life she served her Lord faithfully in devotion and love for him. Shortly after she was confirmed her pastor, the Rev. Habeck, asked her to teach Sunday School. She taught for 2 years. Throughout her life she sang in the choir of the respective congregations where she held membership and attended. After her husband John became an ordained pastor in the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, she served free of charge and voluntarily for 25 years in service to her Savior as the church secretary – first of Rock Of Ages Ev. Lutheran Church in Kansas City North, MO., and then of Crown Of Life Ev. Lutheran Church in Hubertus, WI. During those years at those congregations she also designed and sewed numerous banners that were then displayed at various times in the churches’ chancels.
On March 31, 2019, at the age of 77 years, 7 months and 5 days, the God of all grace called her home to the heavenly mansion that her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ ascended into heaven and prepared for her. She leaves to mourn her passing: her husband John; her daughter Virginia Voigt; her 6 sons, Lee, Chris, David, Timothy, Matthew and Philip; one sister, Joanne Leight; 8 granddaughters; 6 grandsons, 3 great granddaughters; and 2 great grandsons; as well as nieces and a nephew.
