Sandra Edmunds

Sandra Edmunds, 84, of rural Waupun, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2020 at her home.

Sandra was born September 2, 1936 in Elgin, IL to George and Hazel Szoke. Sandra graduated from Dundee High School. While on vacation with her family in Oxford, WI she met the love of her life, Gilbert Edmunds, and married him on February 19, 1955 in Carpentersville, IL. Later they moved to the family-owned resort in Winter, WI. Afterwards, they moved to Waupun and then to Alaska and again to Hawaii. In 1996 they returned to Waupun where they retired. Sandra worked her whole life as a receptionist for many doctors. Sandra liked to hunt and fish as well as going to the casinos. She loved to take care of her husband. They enjoyed traveling south to Florida for the winters.

Sandra is survived by her husband of 65 years, Gilbert Edmunds of Waupun; sons: Douglas (Sandy) Edmunds of Waupun and Brian (Mary Lou) Edmunds of Loretta, WI; grandson, Brian Edmunds of Loretta, WI; brother-in-law, Jack (Karen) Edmunds of Waupun; sisters-in-law, Elaine Bishop of Waupun and Linda Edmunds of Waupun; many nieces, nephews and friends; and especially, her life-long friends, Arlene Harvey, Francis and Marge Woolridge, and Phyllis Moldenhauer.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Tamara (Charles) Voigt; brother-in-law, Rick Edmunds; sister-in-law, Nancy Melchert; brother-in-law, Theodore Bishop; and nephews: Billy Melchert, Robert Melchert, and Allan Voight.


Friends and relatives may call on the family on Wednesday at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.


Funeral services for Sandra Edmunds will be held Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun.


Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun.
