Roberta P. Rens, 80, of Waupun, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016.
Roberta was born December 25, 1935 in Waupun, WI the daughter of Willis and Verna Draeger Pluim. Roberta attended Waupun schools and graduated from Waupun High School in 1953. On June 12, 1953 she married Dick Rens in Waupun. Following their marriage the couple resided in Platteville, WI, the Lowell-Reeseville, WI area, Kimberly, WI, and Somonauk, IL. In 1967 they returned to Waupun. Roberta was employed at Beilke Apparel in Waupun for 12 years, and then purchased the business in 1976 and renamed it Roberta’s Fashion Gallery. In January of 1994 she retired from the apparel business and became an independent sales consultant with Longaberger Basket Co. of Dresden, OH for whom she worked for over 10 years. After their retirement, they spent winters at their home in Sun City West, AZ where Roberta was very active in the Silvercraft Club and the Lapidary Club, crafting jewelry for herself and family and friends. Roberta was a member of Union-Congregational Church in Waupun where she served on several committees and held various offices. She was also a member of the Desert Garden U.C.C. in Sun City West, AZ. She was very active in the Waupun community, was on the Board of Directors for the Waupun Area Chamber of Commerce, and was a chairperson for the Downtown Business Association.
Roberta is survived by her husband, Dick Rens of Waupun; three daughters: Jacqueline (John) Hart of Mesquite, NV, Amy (Greg) Urban of Waukesha, WI, and Dr. Lori Allen of Union Grove, WI; four grandchildren: Jason Hart, Stacie (Josef) Leutner, Jeffrey Allen, and Kendall Urban; a great-granddaughter, Payton Leutner; a great-grandson Caden Leutner; a brother, Dennis (Betty) Pluim of Fond du Lac, WI; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and step-father, Arnold Maas.
Friends and relatives may call on the family on Monday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
Memorial services for Roberta P. Rens will be held Monday, May 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Union-Congregational Church in Waupun.
