Robert E. Whiting, 70, of rural Brandon, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at his home.
Bob was born July 24, 1942 in the town of Waupun, the son of Ralph and Janet Hyslop Whiting. Bob graduated from Waupun High School in 1960. He served his country with the United States Air Force from 1962-1966 where he was stationed in Guam during the Vietnam War. Bob was employed by Mercury Marine, Speed Queen, and returned to Mercury Marine from which he retired. Bob volunteered and did repair work for Fond du Lac Humane Society and Green Lake Humane Society.
Bob is survived by his brothers and sisters, Janet Woods and life partner, Sam Medlock of Columbia, SC; Harriet (Jim) Laird of Waupun, Walter (Patricia) Whiting of Oshkosh, David (Marilyn) Whiting of Waupun, and James (Susan) Whiting of Bean Station, TN; and nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation:
Friends and relatives of Robert Whiting may call on the family on Saturday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
Services:
A memorial service and celebration of Bob’s life will be held Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 12 p.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun with Rev. Mark Arbisi officiating.
