Robert A. Vande Zande, 87, of Waupun, passed away Friday, April 7, 2017 at The Christian Homestead in Waupun.
Bob was born January 31, 1930 in Baldwin, WI the son of Chris and Bertha Wernlund Vande Zande. Bob graduated from Waupun High School in 1948. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in the Korean War. During that time he married Shirley Hinkamp on November 7, 1952 in Waupun. Bob worked at National Rivet and Manufacturing in Waupun from which he retired. Bob and Shirley enjoyed camping and fishing together. Bob was a member of Waupun United Methodist Church and American Legion Post 210 in Waupun.
Bob is survived by his children: Bruce Vande Zande of Madison, Donna (Duane) Hove of Lake Geneva, Mardi (Scott) Baumann of Watertown, Phillip (Amy) Vande Zande of Waupun, Greg (Janet) Vande Zande of rural Waupun, and Mitch Vande Zande of Lake Geneva, WI; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lois Hillary of Racine.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley; two brothers: Lyle Vande Zande and Harold Vande Zande; and a sister, Dorothy Mouw.
Friends and relatives may call on the family at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. and on Wednesday at church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Funeral Services for Robert A. Vande Zande will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Waupun United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Yoder officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Mound Cemetery in the town of Alto where American Legion Post 210 of Waupun will perform military honors.
