Rebecca Cieslewicz, 73, of Waupun passed away unexpectedly at her home on April 14, 2023.
Rebecca was born March 4,1950 in Janesville, the daughter of Edward and Delores Waggoner Bluhm. She graduated college from UW-Eau Claire and later went on to UW-Oshkosh to obtain her masters degree in teaching. After college, she met the love of her life Joseph Cieslewicz and they got married on August 11, 1989. Rebecca and Joseph resided in Waupun while having one son, Matthew. While in Waupun, Rebecca taught High School Special Education for 35 years, impacting many student’s lives. She loved teaching and her students brought her many smiles and laughter. Additionally, she coached forensics at the high school. She loved traveling, gambling, and waving to those who walked by the house. Rebecca loved being around any children, brought a smile to her face. Most importantly she loved being a wife and a mom.
Rebecca is survived by her husband Joseph of Waupun, son; Matthew (Jessica) Cieslewicz of Sioux Falls, SD; siblings; Vicki (Warren) Burgett, Lonny (Debbie) Hesgard, Cindy (Mike) Epping, Debbie Monroe, and Randy (Laurie) Hesgard, step-siblings; Melvin (Cindy), Patty (Jim); siblings in law; David (Lori), Gary, Scott (Karen), Dan (Judy) and cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step-parents; Stanley Hesgard, and Norma Bluhm; and one step-brother; Alvin Bluhm
Funeral services for Rebecca Cieslewicz will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waupun with Fr. John Radetski officiating. Burial will be held at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun. Friends and relatives may call on the family on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
