Phillip J Marquardt

Beaver Dam:

Phillip James Marquardt, age 74 of Beaver Dam, died peacefully at home with family at his side on Monday, July 1, 2024.


Phil was born in Portage on January 31, 1950 the son of Warren and Betty (Aldrich) Marquardt. He attended the Healy Country School and was a 1968 graduate of Cambria-Friesland High School. Phil farmed along with his father until he was united in marriage to Jackie Evans at the Randolph United Methodist Church on November 12, 1977. Following their marriage they moved to Beaver Dam and he was employed with Monarch Range. In October of 1981, Phil began working for Apache Steel in Beaver Dam and retired in February of 2016. Phil loved pheasant hunting and fishing with his boys and grandchildren. In his younger years, Phil coached the local little league in Beaver Dam and had ponies on the family farm. Following his retirement, Phil’s bond with his canine companion “Sam” grew and they could be found together watching his favorite sports team the Chicago Cubs on TV.


Phil will be sadly missed and mourned by his wife, Jackie; his two sons, Kevin (Amber) Marquardt and Brad Marquardt, all of Beaver Dam; his grandchildren, Kylie (Kolton) Emslie, Carter and Kaden Marquardt, Josilyn, Ryan and Gillyan Marquardt; one sister, Barb (Tom) Vogl of Loveland, CO; two brothers, Steve (Barb) Marquardt of rural Cambria and Tom (Darlene) Marquardt of DeForest; sisters-in-law, Jill (Orin) Kowald of Cambria, Jean (Lowell) Hoffmann of rural Cambria, Jodi (Todd) Cigelske of Dousman and Jennifer (Ken) Wiersma of Necedah; nieces, nephews, several other relatives and friends.


Phil was preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws, Bill and Bev Evans.
