1931-2015
Paul Vande Slunt, 84, of Brandon, passed away August 12, 2015 at Fountain View Care Center in Ripon.
Paul was born April 1, 1931 the son of Tienas and Henrietta Vande Bovenkamp Vande Slunt. On December 21, 1951 he married Delores Blase at Alto Reformed Church parsonage. Paul was a member of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. During his working career, Paul was employed at Speed Queen in Ripon and at Waupun Shoe Factory. He had a strong work ethic and was a dedicated and reliable employee. Paul was mechanically inclined and did repair work on autos and lawnmowers. He enjoyed living in the country where he took care of the yard work, did gardening, and also enjoyed watching the birds.
Paul is survived by his four children: two daughters, Debra (Daryl) Biermann of Fond du Lac, and Karen (Jim) Hestad of Brandon; two sons, Dale Vande Slunt of Brandon, and Keith (Patti) Vande Slunt of Princeton; six grandchildren: Ryan, Chad, Sarah, Preston, Tim, and Paige; four great-grandchildren; four siblings: Rose (Charles) Schouten, Hilda (Lewis) Norton, Donna (Donald) Bartelt, and Tienas (Pat) Vande Slunt.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores; his parents; and one sister, Evelyn Wallendal.
