Norris Lee Bresser

August 19, 1944 — October 4, 2016

Town of Manchester: Norris L. Bresser, age 72, of Manchester Township, Green Lake County, died peacefully early Tuesday morning, October 4, 2016 at his home. Funeral services for Norris will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016 at the First Reformed Church in Friesland with Rev. Rob Ford officiating. Burial will follow in Friesland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on the family at the church family center on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and also in the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Norris was born in Fond du Lac on Aug. 19, 1944 the son of Gilbert and Marjorie (Meenk) Bresser and was a 1963 graduate of Waupun High School. Norris was united in marriage to Anna Wiersma on April 24, 1970. He served his country in the Army National Guard and was employed for over 40 years with National Rivet in Waupun. Norris was a devoted member of the First Reformed Church in Friesland and had served as deacon, elder, Sunday School Superintendent and taught Sunday school for many years. In his free time, Norris enjoyed woodworking and shared his wooden creations with others. The most cherished memories of Norris’ where all the times he spent with his children and grandchildren. Norris will be sadly missed and mourned by his wife, Anna; his two daughters, Andrea (Scott) Halbersma of Vesper, WI and Jennifer (Michael) Britt of Arvada, CO; his five grandchildren, Anna, Louis and Laura Halbersma, Fletcher and Marjorie Britt; one brother, Duane (Donna) Bresser of Beaver Dam; one sister, Ellen (Bob) Downing of Park Falls; a special cousin, Marcia Graff of Waupun; three sisters-in-law, Liz (George) Scheuers Waupun, Joyce (Keith) Kovalaske of North Fond Du Lac and Lori (Randy) Flier of Waupun; one brother-in-law, Edwin (Gale) Wiersma of Markesan; nieces, nephews, several other relatives and many dear friends. Norris was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Kathleen Froelich and one brother, Lynn Bresser. The Kratz-Smedema Funeral Home in Cambria is serving the family.
