Neal VanBuren

Neal “Bob” VanBuren, 65, of Fox Lake passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024. 

Neal was born in Waupun on March 5, 1958, the son of Earl and Shirley (Schmidt) VanBuren. He grew up at his family home in Fox Lake and attended Beaver Dam High School, graduating in 1976. Following graduation he attended Madison Technical College. Neal married Diane Schmidt on May 18, 1996. He enjoyed camping, scrapping, four-wheeling, and driving on back roads. He had a great love for his dogs, Milo, Ollie, and Emma. You could also find Neal traveling to different supper clubs or spending time with family and friends. 

Neal is survived by his wife, Diane (Schmidt) VanBuren; his daughter Stacey VanBuren; Son Clint (Bree) VanBuren; Granddaughter Scarlett VanBuren. His brother Mark VanBuren; Brother-in-law, Curt (Marcia) Schmidt; Nieces, Laurie, Karie, Carley. He is also survived by many close friends. 

Neal is preceded in death by his parents Earl and Shirley (Schmidt) VanBuren; a daughter Stella VanBuren; mother-in-law Lynn Funk, and father-in-law Eugene Schmidt.

A funeral service of Neal’s life will take place on Wednesday, February 28th, 2024 at 4pm at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun. Friends and relatives of Neal VanBuren may call on the family on Wednesday, February 28th, 2024 from 2:00pm until the time of service.
