Nancy Hansen

Nancy Hansen, 84, of Waupun passed away unexpectedly Friday, December 15, 2023 at her home.  

Nancy was born September 11, 1939 in Illinois, to Joseph and Stephanie Magiera Kasian. She graduated from Evanston High School in Illinois where she met the love of her life, Carl Hansen.  They were married on Jan 23, 1960 in Evanston, IL. Nancy devoted her time to her family and three children. In 1972 they settled in Waupun where Nancy began to work with Carl  at Ben Franklin. She excelled in the floral department with her many creations. She continued to have a love for flowers in all her remaining years. But her greatest love was for her children and grandchildren along with a good cocktail and of course chocolate. 

She has these words to share, “I want my family and friends to know how much I love them. To my wonderful daughters, thank you for all you do and did for me, to my wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren, I am so blessed for you and for all your love. To Dave my sweet son in law and Sue, my daughter in law for being part of my family. And Dewey and Ginger for there love and friendship”. 

Nancy is survived by her two daughters: Debbie (Dave) Thompson and Jackie Lemmenes; daughter-in-law, Sue Hansen; nine grandchildren: Andrea (Bob) Brugger, Kayla Thompson (fiance, Derek Shaw), Ledd Lemmenes (fiance, Jill Dougherty), Cole Lemmenes, Amber Lemmenes, Loden Lemmenes, Jenna Hansen, Nicole Hansen (fiance, Jake Neu), and Megan Hansen; seven great-grandchildren: Gracelyn, Eli, Violet, Capri, Aubrey, Kloie, and Kaden; brother, Michael (Nancy) Kasian; sister-in-law, Bev Kasian; and many nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services for Nancy Hansen will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 4 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waupun with Fr. John Radetski officiating. Friends and relatives may call on the family on Tuesday at the church from 3 p.m. until the time of service.
