Mitchell Vande Zande, 74, of Waupun, passed away peacefully in the early morning of Monday, November 4, 2024.
Mitchell was born on August 7, 1950, in Beaver Dam, the son of David and Marie (Bronkhorst) Vande Zande. After graduating from Brandon High School in 1968, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and proudly served his country, receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1977. Following his service, Mitchell's adventurous spirit led him to a 30-year career as a semi-truck driver. He had a passion for classic cars and always looked forward to hunting season, as he cherished his time in nature.
Mitchell is survived by his son, Steve Vande Zande of Milwaukee; daughter, Andrea (John) Huss of Ashwaubenon; and two beloved grandchildren, Andrew and Sadie. He is also survived by his sister, Deb (Michael) Hammer, of Waupun; along with many cherished cousins.
Throughout his life, Mitchell was known for his strong faith in God and his unwavering work ethic. He had a love for Westerns and a passion for classic cars, interests that brought him joy and connection with those around him.
Mitchell will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services for Mitchell Vande Zande will be held Thursday, November 7, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun with Pastor Barry Lang officiating. Burial will follow at Union Prairie Cemetery in the Town of Metomen. Friends and relatives may call on the family on Thursday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service. American Legion Post 210 will be providing military honors.
