Mary Lou Muehlenhaupt, 85, a resident of Markesan Resident Home, died Friday, September 14, 2012.
Mary Lou was born January 14, 1927 in Manchester the daughter of Benjamin and Frances Quade Schulz. On May 4, 1947 she married Guenther Muehlenhaupt at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Manchester. The couple farmed in the Manchester area all their married lives. Mary Lou was a 1944 graduate of Markesan High School and then attended Oshkosh Business School. Following school she was employed at Markesan Canning Company where she worked in the office. Mary Lou was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in rural Markesan. Mary Lou faced the challenges of her illness with a special sense of courage, grace and humor.
Mary Lou is survived by two daughters, Debra (Steve) Meilahn of rural Markesan, and Cynthia (Jay) Toser of Fall River; a son, Dale (Marie) Muehlenhaupt of rural Markesan; three grandsons, Aaron (Caitlyn) Meilahn, Drew Muehlenhaupt, and Kade Muehlenhaupt; a brother, John (Verla) Schulz of Randolph; a sister-in-law, Donna Schulz of Markesan; brother-in-law, Gilbert (Eunice) Muehlenhaupt of Beaver Dam; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guenther, in 1982; a brother, Wesley Schulz; and sister-in-law Ruth and her husband, Wayne Riese.
Visitation:
Friends and relatives of Mary Lou Muehlenhaupt may call on the family on Sunday at the church from 5-7 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Services:
Funeral services for Mary Lou Muehlenhaupt will be held Monday, September 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, N1529 State Rd. 73 Markesan with Rev. Paul Krause officiating.
Burial:
Burial will follow at Lake Maria Cemetery in rural Markesan.
