Mary Hilbert

Mary Francis Hilbert, 86, of Waupun, formerly of Mayville, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at home with family by her side. 

Mary was born October 11, 1937 in Waupun, WI the daughter of Joseph and Marie (Hunke) Eggers. Mary graduated from Waupun High School and met the love of her life James Joseph Hilbert. On July 30, 1960 they were united in marriage in Oakfield. Mary worked at Gleason Reel Corp for several years with her husband James. Mary loved camping and spending all her free time with her grandchildren. She also really enjoyed yard work, mowing the lawn was her favorite. 

Mary is survived by her three children: Suzanne (Keith) Wendlandt, Theodore Hilbert, and Benjamin (Kari) Hilbert; 14 grandchildren: Brandon Schneider, Kristin (Nick) Stoiber, Jessica Hilbert, Jacob (Lindsay) Hilbert, Justin (Jenalle) Hilbert, Benjamin Hilbert Jr., Justine Hilbert, Samatha Castleman, Ashley (Dominick) Gottino, Alyssa Hilbert, Remington Hilbert, Wendy (Heather) Warner, Bucky (Jackie) Wendlandt, and Lori (Jason) Zabel; 13 great-grandchildren: Gwen, Solace, Gabby, Marcus, Piper, Colton, Gia, Hayden, Harley, Jordan, Brenna, Kylie, And Brooklyn; a brother, James Eggers; and four sisters: Josephine Priepke, Elaine (Don) Steager, Grace Clark, and Arlene Wiese; and many nieces and nephews. 

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 53 years, James Hilbert; a son, Gregory Hilbert; a great-granddaughter, Gracie; and several siblings: Joseph Eggers Jr., Anna Wells, Pauline Ronning, Patricia Moses, Terrance Eggers, David Eggers, infant brother Michael Eggers, Gladys Gotautis, Joyce Schlefke, Kathy Zentner, and infant sister Christine Eggers. 

Per Mary's wishes there will be no service at this time.
