Marla De Jager, 60, of Waupun, passed away January 3, 2022 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
Marla was born January 8, 1961 in Iowa to Franklin and Cornelia Stam Sturing. Marla graduated from Pella Christian High School and later attended Dordt College and received her degree in education. Upon graduation she worked at Central Wisconsin Christian School where she met the love of her life, Jack De Jager and they were married August 2, 1985 at Bethel Christian in Iowa. The couple moved to Alto where they lived all their married lives. Marla had a lot of jobs, including being a secretary for Mercury Marine, First Christian Reformed Church in Waupun, and Beaver Dam School District. She was a member of Alto Reformed Church and loved to teach Sunday school and Vacation Bible school. She was a youth leader and enjoyed helping out at church. Marla and Jack loved to travel and visit her family across the country.
Marla is survived by her husband of 36 years, Jack; three sons: Jonathon De Jager, Jason (Kassandra) De Jager, and Jordan De Jager; a grandson, Jeremiah De Jager; mother and father-in-law, John (Arlene) De Jager; five siblings: Bernard (Ruth) Sturing, Judith (Carrol) Hol, Janice (Rod) Van Wyk, Marvin (Jan) Sturing, and Stanley (Melody) Sturing; two brothers-in-law: Gary (Katie) De Jager and Joel (Kris) De Jager; and lots of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Marcia Hoover.
Friends and relatives may call on the family on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun and on Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
Funeral services for Marla De Jager will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Alto Reformed Church with Rev. Kevin Van Wyk officiating.
Burial will follow at Alto Cemetery.
