Marjorie Mae Bruins, 77, of Alto, WI, died Thursday, August 9, 2012 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.
Marge was born October 9, 1934 to Ben and Minnie (Kemink) Broadway in rural Brandon, WI. On June 2, 1954 she married Lowell J. Bruins at Alto Christian Reformed Church in Alto. Marge was an active and faithful member of the Alto Reformed Church. She was a full time homemaker, in addition to working at Ripon Foods, Kastein Poultry Farms, and Alto Dairy before retiring. She currently volunteered at the Waupun Senior Citizen Center, which she really truly enjoyed and looked forward to. Marge had a compassionate heart and a love for people. She shared this love generously through her friendships and served others by sharing her hobbies of baking and garden delites.
Marge is survived by her husband, Lowell of Alto; a son, Jeffrey (Pam) Bruins of Waupun; daughters, Valerie (Jeff) Bergeman of Chippewa Falls, WI, and Janell (Ron) Nielsen of Elkhart Lake, WI; grandchildren, Ethan (Beth) Vaade, Erin (Michael) Potts, Alex Bruins, Elizabeth (Craig) Nelson, Thomas Bruins; great-grandchildren, Elena Potts, Sutton Nelson, and Baby Girl Vaade; step-grandchildren, Brad (Stephanie Weigl), Becky and Nikki (Joe Thielman) Nielsen, and Don, Doug, and Jordan Bergeman; sisters, Julene (Gerald) Mulder of Waupun, and Beverly Van Dyken of Palos Park, IL; sisters-in-law, Gretchen London of Texas and Julia Broadway of Waupun; brother-in-law, Allen Klumpers of Waupun; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Marge was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Broadway Sr.; sisters, Hilda VandeZande and Lucille Klumpers; sister-in-law, Catherine (Bruins) Williams; brothers-in-law, Allen Van Dyken, Roger VandeZande, Lee A. Williams, and Jack London.
Marge was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed. Her family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses who took care of her these past few weeks.
Visitation:
Friends and relatives may call on the family on Monday at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun from 4-7 p.m. and on Tuesday at church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
Services:
Funeral services for Marge Bruins will be held Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Alto Reformed Church in Alto with Rev. Ted Lindman and Rev. Ted Medema officiating.
Burial:
Burial will follow at Alto Cemetery.
