Marie Wellhouse

Marie Wellhouse, 89, formerly of Waupun, passed away peacefully at her home in Beaver Dam on March 3, 2024.

Marie was born on May 27, 1934 in the town of Alto the daughter of Marvin and Laverne (Landaal) Kastein. On October 30, 1958 she married the love of her life Earl Wellhouse in Alto. The couple lived their entire married life in Waupun and were blessed with 65 years together. Marie was very family oriented and always very involved with their children’s and grandchildren's activities throughout their lives. Marie loved bowling which included a ladies league, “Wednesday Morning Coffee Clutch” and they went to state. She will be remembered for being a great cook and her love for playing cards, especially sheepshead. 

Marie is survived by her husband, Earl; children: Lori (Ron) Anderson of Gillett and Dan Wellhouse (Ginger Marr) of Arizona; grandchildren: Eric (Lisa) Anderson, Jessica Anderson, Claire (Carson) Braun, and Emily (Riley) Flannigian; great-grandchildren: Sydney Anderson, Taylor Anderson, Billie Braun, Hayden Braun, and Peyton Flannigian; brother-in-law, Glen Deaver, sister-in-law, Donna Kastein; and many nieces and nephews.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Laverne Kastein; grandson, Michael Anderson; siblings: Arlene Bille, Catherine Schwartz, and Donald Kastein; very special sister, Delores Deaver; sister-in-law, Helen Straks; and brothers-in-law, Merten Straks and Armin Wellhouse.

Funeral services for Marie Wellhouse will take place on Friday, March 8, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Werner Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun. Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun. Friends and relatives may call on the family on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
