Cambria: Lyle R. McConochie, age 77 of Cambria, passed away Saturday morning, May 14, 2016 at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital in Beaver Dam surrounded by family. Lyle was born on January 29, 1939 in Pardeeville the middle of 16 children to Christ and Bessie (Coates) McConochie. Lyle had attended the Cambria school system. He was employed at Cambria-Friesland High School as a janitor and also at Rausch Chevrolet in Cambria. Lyle then went to work at Friday Canning Company (Seneca Foods) as a warehouse manager for several years. In 1980 he bought a trucking business from Rausch and hauled raw vegetables for the area canning companies for 22 years. Lyle sold the business, retired and worked part time for Kurt Williams. Lyle was united in marriage to Darlene “Tootie” Williams on March 3, 1981 in Portage. Lyle had four children, Tari, Scott, Jenn and Amanda. He cherished the time spent with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor. Lyle will be sadly missed and mourned by his wife Darlene of Cambria; his children, Tari Bergquist (Scott) of Baraboo, Jenn Harper (Jason) of Pardeeville and Amanda Swisher (Virgil) of Cambria; his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Amie and daughter Alana; Ashley (Joe); Joel; Shawn (Mallory) and sons Memphis and Houston; Brittany (Bud) and sons Lane, Jesse and daughter Ava; Casey (Cameron) and sons Cael and Carson; Macheznie and son Logan; Autum,Hunter, Mathue, Bayleigh, Bradey, Maleeya and Chandler; his siblings, Richard, Charles, Bill, Gary, Marge Keegan, Marlene Ottum and Dorothy Sanke; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Pat Moldenhauer, Shelby (Whitey) Heller, Bev, Howard (Audrey) Williams and Donnie (Pam) Williams; many nieces, nephews, several other relatives and two very dear friends, Bob and Ashley Sanborn and their son Liam. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Scott on Sept. 1, 2003; his great grandson, Myles Thomas; his brothers, Rodney, Marvin and Chris; his sisters, Doris De Ax, Betty Burtis, Gladys Williams, Margaret Wolter and Flora Owen; his brothers-in-law, Merlin Owen, Dick Keegan, Richard Williams and Pete Moldenhauer; his parents- in-law, Rodger (Evelyn) Williams. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Cambria EMS, the staff at Beaver Dam Community Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital and the crew on U.W. Medflight. Funeral services for Lyle will be held at 4pm on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church in Cambria with Rev. Kristin Frederich officiating. Relatives and friends may call on the family on Sunday at the church from 2 p.m. until the time of services at 4 p.m. Lyle’s final resting place will be in Cambria Cemetery.
