Lorraine Esther Peckham

Lorraine Esther (Bobholz) Peckham, age 91 left this earth to be with her Lord on June 27, 2017 at the Markesan Resident Home where she had been currently residing. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Friesland, with Rev. Mike Plagenz officiating. Burial will follow in Friesland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on the family at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Lorraine was born on Feb. 16, 1926 in Friesland the daughter of Elmer and Dehlia (Hinz) Bobholz. She lived in the house she was born in for 88 years. On Sept. 12, 1992 she was united in marriage to Charles Peckham. He preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 2000. Together they enjoyed working on their flower gardens in their big backyard. She attended grades 1 thru 10 in Friesland. Her junior and senior years were spent at Randolph High School. Through the years, she worked for Rich-Land Canning in Friesland, Fall River Canning in Markesan and with the former Cambria State Bank. Lorraine was a lifelong member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Friesland where she enjoyed being active in the Ladies Aid and church choir. She also loved flowers, birds, butterflies, playing cards, going to dances, taking trips and watching 4th of July fireworks from her front lawn with family. In her free time, she spent many hours visiting with people as she worked on genealogy. Lorraine is survived by cousins, neighbors and friends. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, cousins and friends. A special thank you to the staff of the Markesan Resident Home, for the wonderful care given to Lorraine since 2015.
