Lisa Hale

d. June 8, 2022

Lisa Frances (LoPiccalo) Hale of Waupun, Wis., passed away on June 8, 2022 from liver cancer.

Lisa was born on September 20, 1960 in Chicago, Ill., to Victoria (Comande) LoPiccalo and Dominic LoPiccalo. She attended schools in Racine, WI and graduated from Walden III High School in October,1977. In 1980 she had a daughter, Katherine LoPiccalo, of whom she was endlessly proud. Lisa worked at Jacobsen Mfg. until she moved to Houston, Texas, where she worked as a successful job recruiter. When she moved back to Racine, she worked in Human Resources at Appleton Electric.

Lisa found her true calling in life when she became an elementary school teacher, earning her Master of Arts in Education in 2005. Her love of reading propelled her to obtain a certified reading teacher certificate and then a reading specialist license. Due to poor health, Lisa retired from the Waupun Area School District in 2020.

Lisa married Dennis Hale on March 21, 2002, and they celebrated their 20th anniversary this past March. They loved to travel and especially enjoyed Brussels, Bruges, and Nova Scotia. They made many happy memories exploring the mountains of Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. In 2012 they received custody of grandson Martin Hale and the three of them later moved to Waupun.

Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, Victoria, and Dominic LoPiccalo; Dennis’s parents, Donna (Blomgren) and Frank Hale; sister-in-law Candy Krohn and a dear friend, Julie (Bowen) Davidson. Lisa is survived by her beloved husband Dennis; her daughter Katherine LoPiccalo (Lauren Noel) of Silver Spring, Md.; her grandsons Martin James Hale, Aiden Gullifer, and Lucas Noel; and her sister Anne LoPiccalo (Haydie LeCorbeiller) of Pocatello, Idaho. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Barbara Mae Hale and Jackie Hale of Elkhorn, and Brenda (Bob) Anderson of Whitewater.

Lisa loved and was loved by her family, many wonderful cousins, and dear friends old and new.

A celebration of Lisa’s life will be held in Racine at a later date.
