LaVerne Vande Zande

LaVerne Vande Zande, 94, of Waupun, passed away Monday, October 17, 2022 at the Christian Home in Waupun.

LaVerne was born May 18, 1928 in the town of Trenton, the daughter of John R. and Henrietta Boersen Vande Zande. LaVerne graduated from Brandon High School in 1946. She attended Green Lake County Normal in Berlin for two years and received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. LaVerne taught in county schools for 10 years and 29 years in the Fond du Lac School District with most of her years teaching at Franklin School. LaVerne was a member of Bethel Reformed Church in Brandon where she taught Sunday School, was a member of its Women’s Guild where she was a past president, taught Vacation Bible School, and taught children’s church. She was also a member of Fond du Lac Area Retired Teachers and the National Education Association. LaVerne and her sister, Helen enjoyed traveling and visited many countries.

LaVerne is survived by a sister, Betty Bruins of Waupun; sister-in-law, Lorraine Vande Zande; and nieces and nephews.
