Larry Dale Daane, 69, of Waupun, returned to his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 19, 2012 at his home following a year-long courageous battle with cancer.
Larry was born August 31, 1943 in Ripon the son of Willis and Jennie (Overzet) Daane. Larry attended Waupun Christian Schools. On September 11, 1964 he married Eloise “Trix” Fisher in East Friesland. They lived in the Brandon and Waupun areas and are members of First Christian Reformed Church in Waupun. Larry enjoyed spending time with his family, especially boating with his grandchildren at Tuttle Lake. He liked to take road trips with his family. He enjoyed working on home improvements as well as all vehicles and industrial equipment. He was employed by Central Cable Contractors and loved his job. He was a mentor to co-workers as well as his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Trix Daane of Waupun; children, Michael (Shannon) Daane of Claremore, OK, Kimberly (Greg) Root of Waupun, and Samuel (Beth) Daane of Charlottesville, VA; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Michelle) Daane, Holly (Casey) Field, Adam Daane, Hannah Daane, Thomas Root, Ryan Root, Michelle Root, Reagan Daane and Trevor Daane; a great-grandchild on the way; step-great-grandchildren Christian and Connor Caswell; a brother, Elton (Lois) Daane of Escondido, CA; a sister, Betty (Allan) Ankerson of Beaver Dam; mother-in-law, Jeanette Fisher-DeBoer; in-laws Marcia (Larry) Dykstra of Friesland, Kathy (Dennis) Geier of Oshkosh, Steve (Karen) Fisher of Randolph, Rita (Jeffrey) Greiner of Meisenbach, Germany, Pam (Neal) Hendrickson of Cambria; and several nieces and nephews and many other friends.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Frank S. Fisher.
Visitation:
Friends and relatives may call on the family on Sunday at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun from 4-8 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Services:
Services for Larry D. Daane will be held on Monday, October 22, 2012 at 11 a.m. at First Christian Reformed Church in Waupun with Rev. Craig Van Hill officiating.
