DeForest:
Kenn Alan Chavez, age 45 of DeForest, died unexpectedly early morning Thursday,
October 6, 2022 from natural causes, at the UW Hospitals and Clinics in Madison.
Kenn was born on Sept. 2, 1977 , the son of Roman and Marie (Beyer) Chavez. As a
child Kenn was raised with a strong religious foundation and belonged to the Child
Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) where he did summer missionary work. He also
taught at numerous different churches with Awana. At 18, Kenn became
employed with the US Postal Service in Madison where he was employed to this
day. Kenn was united in marriage to Thea Slinger on April 11, 2003. Kenn loved
sports, and he made many friends through his sports affiliations. Kenn had a great
enjoyment of playing video games with his son Gavin. Kenn was a firearm
enthusiast, avid fisherman, and loved his Saleen.
Kenn will be sadly missed and mourned by his wife, Thea and son, Gavin, both of
DeForest; his parents, Roman (Marie) Chavez, brother Mat Chavez of Madison;
parents-in-law, Jack (Gloria) Slinger, brother-in-law John Slinger of Cambria; two
sisters-in-law, Adrianne and Heather Singer of Madison; several other relatives
and a “plethora” of friends.
