Karyl Vanden Hoek, 82, of Waupun, died Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
Karyl was born June 8, 1933 in Waupun, the daughter of Harry and Helen Hanisch Landaal. Karyl was a 1951 graduate of Waupun High School. On August 30, 1952 she married Alvin Vanden Hoek in Waupun. Following their marriage the couple resided in Waupun all their married lives. Karyl was employed as a clerk at Lauer’s Grocery Store in Waupun for 27 years. She enjoyed playing bingo and baking. She was a member of First Reformed Church in Waupun. Karyl and Al enjoyed many years at their cottage on Pine Lake near Mercer.
Karyl is survived by a son, Scott Vanden Hoek and special friend, Lorraine Stam of Waupun; a daughter, Karen (Garry) Fisher of Waupun; six grandchildren: Liz (Alan) Weller, Adam (Larisa) Hendrick, Derek Vanden Hoek, Dylan Vanden Hoek, Annie (Mike) Heinig, and Ben Fisher; five great-grandchildren; Jakob and Kurtis Heinig, and Ava, Jack, and Harrison Weller; sons-in-law: Kurt Van Buren and Mike (Carol) Hendrick; and nieces, nephews, and many special friends.
Karyl was preceded in death by her husband, Al Vanden Hoek in 2009; a son, Mark Vanden Hoek; two daughters: Kay Hendrick and JoAnn Van Buren; two grandsons: Heath Van Buren and Casey Vanden Hoek; and five sisters: Dorothy Edmunds, Ruth Beer Landaal, Ardis Yule, Bette Felsman, and Lois Brewer.

Friends and relatives of Karyl Vanden Hoek may call on the family on Sunday from 4-6 pm. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun and on Monday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Services:
Funeral services for Karyl Vanden Hoek will be held on Monday, September 28, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun with Rev. Bruce Wilterdink officiating.
Burial:
Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in the town of Trenton.
