Karen Mueller

Karen Irene Mueller, 79, of Waupun, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, November 28, 2018.

Karen was born April 25, 1939 in Barneveld WI the daughter of the late Clarence and Ruby (Tesch) Hauge. On June 18, 1955 she was united in marriage to Royce William Mueller in Dubuque, IA. The couple farmed in the Waunakee area until 1964. They moved to Waupun where they lived for the remainder of their lives. Karen worked in the home and provided childcare for Waupun area parents for over 45 years. Caring for what appeared to be all the children of Waupun, she was recognized everywhere she went. Karen was recognized by the City of Waupun as Mother of the Year. She coached Mini and Maxi girls’ softball for many years. Karen and Royce always enjoyed watching their children and Waupun area children in sporting events such as softball and basketball. They never missed any UW Badger sports. Royce preceded Karen in death on June 23, 2010.

Karen is survived by her five children: Glenda (Roland) Yohn of Waupun, Jeff (Laurie) Mueller of Waupun, Brenda Mueller and Debra Nadwidney of IL, Kandace (Jim) Erdmann of Oakfield, and Tamera (Mike) Paschke of Waupun; 15 grandchildren: Ryan (Jess) Mueller, Mindi (Lance) Bresser, Lissa (Andy) Stelsel, Jacob Erdmann, Faye (Mike) White, Corey (Paula) Mueller, Eric (Daisy) Erdmann, Vanessa (Steve) Bastian, Bryan “BJ” (Fiance? Alicia) Yohn, Ashley Erdmann, Karen (Mikey) Ries, Cindel (Kaile) Schimka, Jeremiah (Karson) Erdmann; Andrew (Kristine) Paschke, and Carol (Mike) Wettstein; 18 great-grandchildren: Emma, Lily, Ella, Lila, Gus, Carson, Brady, Carly, Riley, Gage, Grahm, Peri, Mila, Camryn, Brynn, Dalton, Jason, and Isaiah; her sister, Nancy (Harley) Altman of Monroe; her sister Cheryl (Tony) Nickels of Orfordville; her sisters-in-law Nancy Hauge of Monticello and Barb Hauge of Monroe; her brother Richard (Jackie) Hauge of Janesville; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Darcy and Danny Hauge, Glen Ryman, and Charles Ryman.




Friends and relatives may call on the family on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.



Funeral services for Karen Mueller will be held Friday, November 30, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun.



Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery.
