Junice M. Vande Zande

Junice M. Vande Zande, 92, of Waupun, passed away Friday, August 25, 2023 at the Christian Home in Waupun with family by her side. 

Junice was born March 22, 1931 in the town of Alto, the daughter of Theodore and Hattie Schouten Ter Beest. On Sept 21, 1950 she married Albertus Vande Zande. Following their marriage the couple farmed in the Waupun area until 1987 when they moved to Waupun. Junice was a member of Alto Reformed Church of where she was active in its women’s ministry. Junice loved children, crocheting, quilting, watching birds, fixing puzzles, decorating cookies with grandkids, chocolate shakes, family and friends.

Junice is survived by her eight children: Betty (Steve) Hoffman, Arlyn “Jake” (Olga) Vande Zande, Donna (Larry) Kok, Duane Vande Zande, Jerry (Dawn) Vande Zande, Rick Vande Zande, Kathy (Shawn) Brost, and Torri Vande Zande; fourteen grandchildren: 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Vande Zande; two sisters-in-law: Darlene Ter Beest and Pat Ter Beest; and many nieces and nephews. 

Junice was preceded in death by her husband, Albertus; a great-granddaughter, Briana Meidam; two sisters: Arlene Schouten and Dorothy Daane; and eight brothers: Edward, Gordon, Melvin, Leonard, Harold, Earl, Donald, and Ken TerBeest.

Funeral services for Junice M. Vande Zande will be held Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Alto Reformed Church with Pastor Kevin Van Wyk officiating. Burial will follow at Alto Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call on the family on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
