Judy Galler, 84, of Waupun, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024 at her residence at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living in Waupun.
Judy was born August 5, 1940 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Andrew and Edith Biehl Molter. As a young individual the family moved to Waupun where she graduated from Waupun High School in 1958. Following high school, Judy moved to Evanston, IL where she studied at “The Cradle,” School of Infant Nursing. She graduated in 1960 and took a job at Mt. Sianai Hospital in Milwaukee, WI. She then returned to Waupun where she worked at Waupun Memorial Hospital until 1963. On June 23, 1962 she married Max Galler and the couple resided in Waupun all their married lives and was a stay-at-home mom from 1963-1976. She was then employed by Community Psychological Services from 1976-1996, working for Dr. Robert DeYoung. She later worked at Head Start in Brandon from 2003-2017 where she was a receptionist. Judy was a member of Emmanuel Reformed Church in Waupun for 60+ years where she sang in the choir and also in a sextet. She was Mother of the Year in Waupun in 1982. Judy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She essentially loved life, and loved people. She will be missed by those that knew and loved her. Judy was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Judy is survived by her husband, Max Galler of Waupun; a daughter, Jodi (Chris) Gerou of Malone; grandchildren: Maxwell Graf and Alex (Hailey) Graf; great-grandchild, Margo Graf; a sister, Pat (Richard) Henke of Punta Gorda, FL; brother-in-law, Paul Ebert; and nieces and nephews.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Mark Galler; a sister, Florence Ebert; a brother, Peter Molter and his wife, Juliet; and brother-in-law and sister-in-in-law, Bernie and Louise Kloosterboer.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun. A short service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Gwen Loomans officiating. A luncheon will be served after the service.
