1923 -2015
Joyce Vermeer, 91, of Waupun, died Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at The Christian Homestead in Waupun.
Joyce was born December 4, 1923 near Marblehead in Fond du Lac County, the daughter of Everett and Viola Greene Snyder. Joyce attended Oakfield schools until her senior year and then graduated from Brandon High School. Following graduation she was employed at a shoe factory in Waupun and at that time married Arnold “Hezzie” Vermeer. Following Hezzie’s discharge from the Army, the couple farmed in the Brandon area for several years and moved to Waupun in 1976. Joyce enjoyed country and gospel music, word searches, puzzles, crocheting, Bible study, and was an avid Brewer and Packer fan.
Joyce is survived by two daughters: Carol (Bob) Zietlow of Waupun, and Sandy (Gary) Toshner of Ripon; two grandchildren: Steve (Cindy) Zietlow of Waupun, and Mike Zietlow of North Fond du Lac; two step-grandchildren: Ryan Toshner and Mara Toshner; five great-grandchildren: Cody, Shelby, Reid, Raine, and Olivia Zietlow; three sisters: Irene Stobb (Don Reisen) of Waupun, Margaret (John) Hoekstra of Waupun, and Ruth Stobb of Ripon; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold, in 1992; five brothers: Lyle, Wayne, Ronald, Roger, and Thomas Snyder; three sisters: Ruby Wright, Hazel Bly, and Darlene Rostyne; and a great-grandson, Bryan.
Visitation:
Friends and relatives may call on the family on Wednesday at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
Services:
Funeral services for Joyce Vermeer will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun with Rev. Dennis Overlien officiating.
Burial:
Burial will follow at Brandon Cemetery.
