Jane Irene Guelig, age 92, died at home on Sunday, September 23rd.
She was born on February 9, 1920 in Fond du Lac to John and Elizabeth (Konen) Bermingham. She attended St. Mary's Catholic School, Roosevelt Junior High, and graduated from Fond du Lac Senior High School. On September 18, 1943 Jane married Edmund Paul Guelig at St. Mary's Catholic Church and they began their married life on the family farm in Marytown. They later settled in Waupun where they raised their family.
Jane lived her faith by being a humble servant to those in need. Her greatest joy was in raising her seven children.
She is survived by her dear twin sister, Joan Bestor of Fond du Lac; her seven children: Anne Smith of Sturgeon Bay, Joanie and Bill Shaw of Mauston, Mary Richardson of Monroe, John and Diane Guelig of Richland Center, Ed and Daria Guelig of Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, Jane and Dennis Harkins of Portage, and Julie and Paul Peckham of Richland Center. Jane is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Jane was preceded in death by Edmund Guelig, her beloved husband of 47 years; her siblings and their spouses, Jack and Barbara Bermingham, Lucille and John Callahan, Harvey Bestor, and Beth and Tom Greulich.
The family requests that memorials be made to St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waupun or for masses said in Jane's memory.
Visitation:
A visitation will be held at the church beginning at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
Services:
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Waupun.
Burial:
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
