Jane A Posthuma

Jane Ann Posthuma, age 82 of rural Portage died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday morning, November 16, 2023 at her home.

Jane was born on Dec. 22, 1940 the daughter of Walter and Viola (Boelter) Flegner. She was a graduate of Randolph High School. Jane was united in marriage to Alvin Posthuma on August 9, 1958 in Randolph. Following their marriage, Jane farmed alongside her husband and raised a family. She enjoyed watching her favorite television shows and hanging out with her dog “Smokey”. Jane had a fond taste for Dairy Queen treat’s and often would drive to the banks of the Wisconsin River where she watched the water flow by while savoring her ice cream treat.

Jane will be sadly missed and mourned by her children, Brenda (Jeff) Vande Zande of rural Randolph and Dale (Dawn) Posthuma of Cambria; two grandchildren, Richard (Jenny) Posthuma and Steven (Sonja) Posthuma; her great grandchildren, Hannah and Drake Posthuma; several other relatives and friends.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on Feb. 24, 2006 and a brother Larry Flegner.

A private graveside service will be held at 1p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023 in the Randolph Cemetery with Chaplin Dennis Richards officiating.
