[highlight_text] (1927 – 2013) [/highlight_text] Imogene E. Abel, 86, of Waupun, died Tuesday, April 30, 2013.


[leftcolumn] Imogene was born January 4, 1927 in Fond du Lac the daughter of Kinley D. and Hertha Schmude Tew. Imogene attended Waupun schools and graduated from Waupun High School in 1943. The Tew family moved to Fond du Lac in October of 1943. On November 24, 1949 she married Thomas F. Abel at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac where they were members. Then they moved to Waupun. Imogene was a long-time member of Pella Lutheran Church in Waupun.

Imogene is survived by a daughter, Sandra Abel (husband David Faas) of Madison; a son, Gary (Sharon) Abel of Cadyville, NY; two grandchildren, George (Patti) Coger of Morrisonville, NY and Terri (Brian) Douglas of Plattsburgh, NY; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great- granddaughter; eleven nieces and nephews, David (Carol) Johnson of Beaver Dam, Donna (Ron) Culver of Green Lake, Ron Johnson of Oshkosh, Gary (Nancy) Becker of Fond du Lac, Linda Schroeder of Fond du Lac, Carolyn (Rick) Wasserman of Rockford, MN, Randy (Nancy) Jagow of Fond du Lac, Louis and Alan Jagow of Fond du Lac, Wanda (Ted) Zielicke of Mt. Calvary, and David (Annette) Jagow of Mt. Calvary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; her parents; her brother, Lyle; and sisters Orena and Vala Nee and their spouses; and a great-great-grandson.


[rightcolumn] [highlight_text] Visitation: [/highlight_text] Friends and relatives may call on the family on Friday at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

[rightcolumn] [highlight_text] Services: [/highlight_text] Funeral services for Imogene Abel will be held Friday, May 3, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Pella Lutheran Church in Waupun with Rev. Mike Stock officiating.

[rightcolumn] [highlight_text] Burial: [/highlight_text] Burial will follow at the Norwegian Lutheran Cemetery in the town of Waupun.

[rightcolumn] [highlight_text] Memorial Contributions: [/highlight_text] In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution can be directed to a charity of your choice.

    Aunt Gene was my God-Mother and I thank her for that. I am sure she is in heaven with her husband, brothers & sisters. I wish my cousins and their families the best in this time of need.
