Helen J. Hoelzel, 89, of Waupun, died September 9, 2016.
Helen was born on September 5, 1927 in Green Bay, WI to Alfred and Grace (Schinke) Falck of Morrison, WI. She was united in marriage to Clement C. Hoelzel on May 20, 1950 at the St. Joseph rectory in Waukesha, WI.
Helen was a dedicated registered nurse, working in hospitals and clinics in Milwaukee, Waukesha, Knoxville, IA and Waupun. Mother to three children: Barbara, James, and Sally; mother-in-law to Lori and Peter; grandmother to five; and great-grandmother to eight. She loved them all, as well as flower gardening and writing poetry.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Clem Hoelzel of Waupun; her children: Barbara B. Schumacher of Wauwatosa, James C. (Lori) Hoelzel of Waupun, and Sally A. (Peter Eckblad) Hoelzel of Racine; her grandchildren: Jessica (Jason) Cook, Andrea (Ian Smith) Hoelzel, Samantha Hoelzel and Jim Younger, James C. (Carley) Hoelzel II, and Elena Eckblad; five great-granddaughters: Cadence, Keirstyn, Alexandria, Tava, and Eleanor; three great-grandsons: Henry, Brandon, and Jon. She is further survived by her brother, Frederick (Lois) Falck of Green Bay; and three sisters-in-law: Susan Falck of MI, Lois Hoelzel of Eau Claire, WI, and Suzanne Falck of MI.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Richard Falck; and a brother-in-law, Howard Hoelzel.
Helen was a member of Pella Lutheran Church in Waupun for 54 years.
A graveside service officiated by Rev. David Knuth of Pella was held on September 12, 2016. Special thanks to Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home and to all of the caregivers who assisted during Helen’s illness.
She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
