(1935 - 2012)
Helen Neevel, 76, of Waupun, went home to her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Madison.
Helen was born December 11, 1935 in the town of Alto in Fond du Lac County, the daughter of Bert and Bertha Wiltjer Mulder. On June 25, 1954 she married Wallace Neevel at Alto Christian Reformed Church in Alto. The couple resided in Waupun most of their married lives and then lived in Eagle River for three and a half years. Helen worked at Well Kum Inn Restaurant and at The Christian Home in Waupun. She was an active member of Trinity Reformed Church in Waupun. Helen enjoyed playing cards and just about any game that was available. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and loved flowers. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother.
Helen is survived by her husband, Wally Neevel of Waupun; Helen and Wally’s children, James (Dawn) Neevel of Waupun, Stan (Marlys) Neevel of rural Waupun, and Karen (Dean) Vander Galien of Waupun; 11 grandchildren, Melissa Neevel, Dustin (Jessie) Neevel, Brent Neevel, Dana Neevel, Charlie Neevel, Jory (Vanessa) Vander Galien, Emily (Danny) Parmelee, Jessica (Alex) Contreras, Justin Lehman, Matthew Vander Galien, and Aaron Vander Galien; two great-grandchildren, Evelyn Grace Contreras and Stella Grace Parmelee; two brothers, Gerald (Julene) Mulder of Waupun and Bernard (Beverly) Mulder of rural Waupun; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Harvey Flier of Waupun, Fred (Teddi) Neevel of Clyman, and Shirley (Jerry) Harmsen of Waupun.
Helen was preceded in death by two sisters, Kathryn Derksen and Clara Mae Flier.
Services:
Funeral services for Helen Neevel will be held Monday, March 26, 2012 at 3 p.m. at Trinity Reformed Church in Waupun with Rev. John White officiating.
Burial:
Burial will follow at Forest Mound Cemetery in Waupun.
Visitation:
Friends and relatives of Helen Neevel may call on the family on Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun and on Monday at the church from 2 p.m. until the time of service.
