Hazel Dykstra, 82, of Waupun, died Thursday, January 10, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family.
Hazel was born March 10, 1930 in Butler, Oklahoma, the daughter of Leonard and Mary Alderson Rainey. On March 28, 1946 she married Herman Dykstra in Ozark, Arkansas. Following their marriage the couple resided in Waupun all their married lives. They enjoyed 60 wonderful years of marriage. Hazel was seasonally employed by canning companies in Fairwater and Beaver Dam. She was a member of First Reformed Church in Waupun and a member of its Women’s Guild.
Hazel is survived by their six children, Carol Grainer of Bradenton, Fl, Dan (Judi) Dykstra of Saukville, WI, Mary (Richard) Aalsma of Troy, TX, Shirley Andersen of Madison, Ruth Deichsel of Waupun, and Betty (Stan) Parafiniuk of Neshkoro; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Herman in 2006; a grandson, David Grainer; her parents; three sisters; and a brother.
Visitation:
Friends and relatives may call on the family on Monday at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun from 4-7 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
Services:
Funeral services for Hazel Dykstra will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at 11 a.m. at First Reformed Church in Waupun with Rev. Bob James officiating.
Burial:
Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in the town of Trenton.
